GO Bag

 

Each household member should have a Go Bag  assembled – a collection of items needed in the event of an evacuation. Durable, easy-to-carry containers should be used such as a backpack or suitcase on wheels. Go Bags should be easily accessible if you have to leave your home in a hurry.

 

 

* Copies of your important documents in a waterproof and portable container: insurance cards, birth certificates, deeds, photo IDs, proof of address, etc.

* Extra set of car and house keys

* Credit and ATM cards and cash. We recommend you keep at least $50-$100 on hand

* Bottled water and non-perishable food such as   energy bars—always check expiration dates

* Flashlight, battery-operated AM/FM radio and   extra fresh batteries

* Medication for at least one week and essential   personal items. Keep a list of medications each household member takes, their dosages and your doctor’s name and phone number

* First-aid kit

* Sturdy, comfortable shoes, lightweight raingear, and a Mylar blanket

* A small regional map
