In some locations, the contents of buildings can be protected through flood proofing measures such as sandbagging.  Lee County Emergency Management provides your local Fire District both sand and sandbags for flooding events at no cost to citizens.  Please contact your local Fire District for distribution points.  Come prepared to fill and haul your own sandbags.
