Town of Fort Myers Beach

...being prepared is everyone’s business

Matanzas Pass Bridge

Bridges and roads are not barricaded closed. However, Emergency Management will advise people not to travel when sustained winds reach tropical storm force (over 39 mph). This is also the point where first responders (fire, EMS and law enforcement) go to    shelters and will no longer respond to calls.

To be permitted entry onto Fort Myers Beach following evacuation, residents, property owners, business owners and key business employees must present  appropriate identification such as a driver’s license, official FL identification, passport with a Fort Myers Beach address or a FMB Chamber of Commerce identification.
